The perfect fun activity for parents, grandparents, children and the young at ‘ARRRRT!’
Make a Radio Show
Have a go at radio presenting, choosing tunes, and recording interviews and soundbites from the day to add to a collective Furthest From The Sea Audio Postcard - a radio show airing on Derby Sound Community Radio from 5pm-7pm and again at 9pm-11pm Sunday 26th June. Tune in to hear your voices and creations online via www.derbysound.org.uk. Suitable for all ages, radio-making fun for all the family!

Treasures of the Sea
Recycling materials to make sea creatures and treasures of the sea I will be inviting children and families to engage in lots of craft making activities. We will be using cd's to create jellyfish, crabs and fish and lots of safe materials from PARC-the Play and Recycling Centre in Derby. I will also bring along a pirate ship made from cardboard for children to play inside and to highly encourage self directed role play and creativity by drawing port holes and images on the ship.
Poetry Treasure Hunt
Rob Stamper
Find the hidden Pirate words and help write a poem where Pirates save the sea. Join poet Rob Stamper in the Pirate Tent for 'Eco-Pirates and a Sea-Saving Adventure'. Have you got the swashbuckle to perform your verse to the Pirate crew?
Play the Spoons!
Track down Pirate Jo May as she roams the Festival, and learn to play the spoons! You'll learn the grip and a few basic techniques, enough to create a little routine. Spoons will be provided, but feel free to bring your own if you'd like to. All ages welcome!
